Pure Luck.. can you find it?

One of my all time favorite movies is "Pure Luck" starring Martin Short & Danny Glover. For those of you who haven't seen this movie ( your missing out) here is the synopsis:

Pure Luck 1991
The daughter of a wealthy bussinessman has dissapeared in Mexico, and all the efforts to find her have been unsuccessful. A psycologist, knowing that the girl has an ultra bad luck, persuades her father to send to Mexico one of his employees, an accountant with super bad luck, to find her. Perhaps he will be lucky, and his bad luck could help to find the unlucky girl

*Although this movie is highly loved by it's viewers it is still yet to be released on DVD if ever. Trying to find it on VHS is equally hard unless your are planning on paying $40 or more on a used VHS from the early 90's. I myself have been looking online & at garage sales for the last few years trying to find this wonderful movie with no luck.

*But, I might have had a break through tonight. I did a Google search for Pure Luck & Craigslist to see what I might find. And low and behold someone from Boise is selling a lot of 30 VHS's including Pure Luck for $30. So I have sent them an email & I'm eagerly waiting for their reply. Now the chances of them still having this movie is slim, but I'm not giving up. The chances that a famous author would hire me for her scrapbook designer is also very slim but God does miraculous things! So wish me luck (and patience) as I await their email!

Here are some other Great Martin Short movies I recommend!

It was a big day yesterday at the Steiner's house!

First let me start by telling everybody my good news! Famous author Jane Porter received the first two scrapbooks yesterday. She emailed me back saying they were gorgeous & she couldn't believe how much work I had put into them! Whew! what a relief! She added that the only bad news was now she will want lots more scrapbooks! Which doesn't sound so bad to me!

Then last night, while Troy and I were playing Scrabble, Troy earned 179 pts in one move! As much as I hate to admit it, the move was pretty amazing! And of course we took pictures to document this historic occasion.

The break down of points is as followed:

  • Troy placed the word BAYONETS down, with the S adding to the end of the word ACTOR*BAYONETS landed on 1 Double Letter Tile & 2 Triple Word Tiles ( which in the scrabble directions means the word is multiplied by 9)

  • Then he added on the points from the word ACTORS (which landed on 1 Triple Word Tile)

Add the 50 pts he receives for using all 7 letters and you get a grand total of 179 pts in one move!

Pretty Impressive!

Are you a scrapbooker?

You might be a scrapbooker if ...
10. Your baby's first word is "Cheese".
9. You've ever staged a photograph just so you can use that cute new embellishment you just got.
8. You see your family more through the pictures you scrap than in real life.
7. You've never sewn a piece of clothing in your life, but you buy a mini sewing machine just to sew on your scrapbook pages.
6. You're disappointed when you get gift certificates to your favorite clothing store instead of the scrapbook store.
5. You buy your child a new outfit just to match the new patterned paper you just bought.
4. Your family can't find a place to eat because the table is full of scrapbooking supplies.
3. Your 4-year-old knows the difference between a brad and an eyelet.
2. You evaluate how good a family outing is by the number of scrapbook pages you can create from it.
1. Your husband asks you in the morning "Who is Bazzill? You were talking in your sleep last night ... Is it another man?"

So it's official, I am definetly a scrapbooker!

I was looking up pictures of scrapbook rooms on the computer tonight and I stumbled across a website that I just had to share with everyone. This first link is to view her scrapbook room, which is more than just impressive.

And this next link is to a page she has created, where you can create a font from your own handwriting!

Enjoy!
